This year, we attended several gala events for the 2016 Oscar Season. Getting Red-Carpet-Ready each year is an event that cannot be missed. Celebs line up to receive their star-studded treatments in beauty, showered with the latest fashions, gifts, and beauty products to fill their shopping bags and duffels. No one goes home empty-handed (more fun than Christmas!). Many shop the events and give them to friends, family, and favorite charities. Each vendor is rewarded with an endorsement from an Oscar nominee, and everyone enjoys the festivities.
The hottest spot on Melrose Place (even the Prez O has visited), Fig n’ Olive was the scene for Doris Bergman’s Eighth Annual event. This swank eatery hosts the uber-elite and this year’s gifting suite for the upcoming Oscars. Bergman’s style lounge, honoring the upcoming 88th Annual Academy Awards, was buzzing with 100 of Hollywood’s finest. The turnout was a big celebration honoring the Oscar® Nominated actors, former Oscar® winners, presenters, stylists, and industry VIPS.

Some of the noteworthy celebs on the scene: Oscar Nominees Brianne Davis (“Embrace of the Serpent” Best Foreign Film), Cas Anvar (“Room” Best Picture), Director Evgeny Afineevsky (“Winter On Fire” Best Documentary), Vanessa Cloke (“Spotlight” Best Picture), joined George Chakiris (former Oscar Winner “West Side Story”), former Oscar Nominees Sally Kirkland, Renee Taylor & Joe Bologna, former Golden Globe Nominee Evan Brinkman (“Trainwreck”), former Golden Globe & Grammy Nominee & Frank Stallone (“Stayin’ Alive”)
TV Legal Analyst Areva Martin, Multiple Emmy Winners Doris Roberts & Marilu Henner, Maria Conchita Alonso, Naomi Grossman (“American Horror Story”), Robin Givens, Eva La Rue, Ernie Hudson, John Savage, Steven Bauer (“Ray Donovan”), Judy Tenuta, Kelsey Scott (“12 Years A Slave), Adina Porter, Lou Ferrigno, Angela Gots (“Madam Secretary”), Damian Whitewood (“Dancing With The Stars”), Keesha Sharp (“The People vs. O.J. Another hot event to see and be seen was the Eco-Luxe Lounge at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. The week of Oscar events just kept getting better and better. In celebration of the 88th Oscars, Debbie Durkin’s EcoLuxe Lounge at The Beverly Hilton on Thursday, February 25th, was the most happening spot in town. The stars and nominees kept coming in with huge shopping bags filled with goodies.
When you entered the lounge, the whole place was buzzin’ with the sound of music with Vanderpump Rules star DJ Mike Shay and the yummy appetizers served with Repurpose Compostables. The other sponsors this year were Shriners Hospitals for Children – Los Angeles, LaCroix Sparkling Water, Burnetie Shoes (eco-friendly boots and shoes), Amy Radzik Jewelry (eco-friendly jewelry), SoLight Design, John Paul Pet, Modern Oats, Candy Vixen, Debbie DiMaggio Real Estate, Armani Wells fashion and the Jamaican Tourist Board.
When a winery like Fete Today gives you a sample taste of the most unique, rich, and bold wines, that’s great, but guests go home with a whole bottle! Strolling along the aisles, we were beckoned to the IT Cosmetics Makeup counter for a complimentary touchup. We never made it to the Sugar & Bronzed by Courtney Claghorn-provided custom airbrush spray tans, but we wish we did! This was one of the best of all the parties around town.
“Created by TV/Film product placement producer DEBBIE DURKIN of Durkin Entertainment Group, the ECO LUXE LUXURY CELEBRITY LOUNGE is an experience that connects brands and charities with celebrities, media, and industry VIPs! Now in its 10th year, the invite-only ECO LUXE unites fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and technology to showcase the best eco-luxury lifestyle & green products.” This is a unique event because the intention is to be a lounge destination for the Oscars’ elite to relax, dine, drink, and interact with the brands, including Chariot Travelware.
We especially enjoyed the Model Ambassadors who introduced us to each brand, so we felt a personal touch. The celebs were thrilled to be pampered and showered with lots of attention. From Giles Marini (Sex and the City to Dancing with the Stars) and his lovely wife, Carole; Glees Sam Larsen, Adina Porter (HBO’s True Blood), Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay, Teen Mom’s Janelle Evans were enjoying the festivities of the day.
Getting a bird’s eye view of being an Oscar Nominee during the pre-Oscar gifting suite events, everyone is excited to attend the Beverly Hilton Hotel’s yearly hot spot, the go-to place for parties and events. Then, off to the Fig n’ Olive for the hip Hollywood event on Melrose Place.
